Cat Toys: Fun for Cats, Easy for Cat Parents
Play Time
Cat Games
If you’re like me you love your cat but at times are too busy or tired to give them the attention they crave. As any cat parent knows, a bored cat is a mischievous cat! So, how do we keep our cats busy and out of trouble without giving up too much time? Below I have some simple ideas and toys that will keep you kitten entertained with minimal effort on your part.
Cats Love Bottle Caps
Favorite Cheap Cat Toys
Bottle caps and straws are two of my cat’s favorite things. After drinking a bottle soda, I always put the cap on the floor for the cats to play with. I do this with left over soda straws too. The cats like to stalk the cap as if it is prey. They hunch down, plan their attack, and pounce on the bottle cap. The cap is small enough for them to pick it up in their mouths yet big enough that they do not swallow it. They also love playing with soda straws too. With the straws, they enjoy chewing on them and carrying them around their home and into their cat castle. These two simple items provide hours of entertainment for my furry buddies.

Cats Love These Toys
As we know, cats are very curious and smart animals. They like a good challenge. If you have a cat that enjoys a good challenge you may consider a toy food dispenser. To use this toy, simply fill up the ball with your cats dried food and set it on the floor. Your cat will then push the toy around listening to the sound of the food rattling inside. As she pushes around the toy, the food spills out from three holes in the top of the food ball. Your cat can then enjoy some breakfast or dinner. They she can push around and chase the food ball for more food. This toy is great for high energy cats or for cats with behavior problems. The only drawback is sometimes you cat may miss a piece of food and it gets left on the floor. What is great is that not only does your cat get its food but she will burn of energy while eating. This will reduce any attention seeking behavior or bad cat behavior you may be experiencing.
Another great find is the Peek a Prize toy box. This box is designed to “hide,” your cats toys just out of site. One you cat discovers there toy is inside this box, they will speed time and energy trying to fish out their toy. This box works because of your cat’s natural curiosity and instinct to watch cracks, crevices, and hiding places for prey to come out. This toy is great for when you are away from your home during the day or for extended trip outside your home.nd sma1 nmH0 F style='mso-spacerun:yes'> They like a good challenge. Busy Cat = Happy Owner
No matter what toys you use to entertain you cat, it is a good idea to change them out regularly. Cats get bored of the some toys just like we do. If you switch out cat toys every week, your cat will keep an interest in playing with them. This is true with simple toys like bottle caps and straws, or fuzzy stuffed animals. Keeping your feline friend entertained with fresh cat toys will promote healthy exercise and decrease destructive behaviors.
